BREA, CA – July 20, 2023 – Curtiss-Wright’s Nuclear division announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) to develop the Next Generation Personnel Access Data System (Next Gen. PADS). First introduced in 1988, NEI’s PADS software is used by U.S. commercial nuclear licensee members to share access authorization, fitness-for-duty, training, and radiation protection information.

“Twenty years ago, we set out on a mission to develop the best access authorization and fitness-for-duty software available to the U.S. nuclear industry,” said Kurt Mitchell, General Manager and Vice President of Curtiss-Wright’s Nuclear and Valves divisions. “The Nuclear Energy Institute’s selection of Curtiss-Wright to develop and host the next generation of PADS speaks to the commitment our team has shown toward accomplishing this mission. We look forward to working with NEI and its industry steering committee to develop the next generation of PADS, leveraging our software and implementation expertise to deliver a secure, easy-to-use system that allows for simple migration of existing plant interfaces and seamless integration with plant software.”

Curtiss-Wright will collaborate with NEI and its industry steering committee in the design, testing, and implementation of the Next Gen. PADS software.
