Curtiss-Wright Nuclear to Exhibit and Present at the 2020 AUG MUG Conference

January 13, 2020

Curtiss-Wright Nuclear will be exhibiting at the 2020 Air-Operated Valve Users’ Group (AUG) and Motor-Operated Valve Users’ Group (MUG) Joint Conference and Expo in Austin, Texas from January 13–17, 2020. Curtiss-Wright will debut an augmented reality platform demonstrating the design and function of several Curtiss-Wright valves and showcase a wide selection of flow control solutions at booth #303.

Additionally, Curtiss-Wright representatives Ryan Hemphill and Dave Steffen will be presenting at the AUG, Fluid Leak Management Users Group (FLMUG), and Boric Acid Users Group (BAUG) conferences, hosted alongside the MUG conference.

Fluid Leak 101: Dave Steffen’s presentation will offer guidance on how to set up and run a fluid leak management program at a nuclear power plant. Topics include everything from current industry leak metrics to how to perform an assessment, gather and analyze data.

Breakout Sessions: Additionally, Dave Steffen will be conducting two breakout session presentations titled “Valve Packing with SealPRO” and “SealPRO Training – Leak Tracking Module” discussing valve packing and leak management. These presentations will combine advanced application training with guidance to maximize the SealPRO database.

Improving Valve Packing in AOV’s: Ryan Hemphill will provide an overview of the various packing materials used in Air Operated Valves and explain best practices on the installation and consolidation of valve packing. Using results from OE and testing, the presentation will discuss improved and alternative packing configurations to achieve better sealing and valve performance.

The AUG MUG Joint Conference and Expo is an annual meeting dedicated to the development and exchange of technical information related to the performance, design, testing, and maintenance of air-operated valves and motor-operated valves.
