Supporting Local Schools through the “Give Back Initiative”

August 30, 2018

For the past five years, Curtiss-Wright Nuclear’s Information Solutions team has used its “Give Back Initiative” as a vehicle for supporting local schools.

This year, the Clearwater, FL office contributed 20 backpacks full of school supplies to the Operation Graduation program, a local initiative aimed at promoting on-time high school graduation for students in at-risk environments. The Clearwater team had the opportunity to meet with some of the students in the program on their first day of school. The students shared personal stories and discussed their goals and the career paths they would like to take.

In Pennsylvania, the Berwick office contributed 17 backpacks full of supplies to the United Way and Women in Nuclear’s Stuff the Bus program. This back-to-school drive collects backpacks and supplies for the area’s local schools, where guidance counselors distribute the backpacks to children in need.

Through its “Give Back Initiative,” the Information Solutions team helps keep students focused on learning.
